Verona bring in Djuric, send Cancellieri to Sassuolo

Hellas Verona are busy today, sealing a deal for Salernitana striker Milan Djuric and selling Matteo Cancellieri to Sassuolo.

The Stadio Bentegodi side are as ever ready to make vast changes to their squad over the summer, rarely sticking with players or coaches for long.

According to Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, Verona have agreed personal terms with Salernitana hitman Djuric, who is a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.

Several clubs were interested in his services, including Napoli, Cremonese and Genoa, after five goals and five assists in 33 Serie A appearances this season.

Practically unbeatable in the air, the 32-year-old has reportedly agreed a three-year contract at Verona.

Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Hellas have also struck a deal to sell young striker Cancellieri to Sassuolo for €6m.

The 20-year-old attacking wide man had started out in the Roma youth academy, but joined Verona in 2020.

He made 14 appearances for Hellas this season, contributing two goals and one assist.

Cancellieri also earned his senior Italy debut this month.

Meanwhile, Verona also already agreed terms to take striker Thomas Henry from Venezia, on loan with option to buy.
