Former Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski praises ‘fantastic’ Andrea Pirlo and hopes the former midfielder’s tips will help him provide service for Tottenham star striker Harry Kane.

Kulusevski joined Tottenham on an 18-month loan with an option to buy from Juventus in January. The Sweden international made his debut in North London on Saturday in a 3-1 win over Brighton.

The former Atalanta and Parma starlet discussed the impact of his ex-coach Andrea Pirlo and how his tips could help him develop at Tottenham.

“Pirlo is a fantastic coach and a fantastic guy,” he said as quoted by the London Evening Standard.

“I spoke with him nearly every day and he always spoke to me a lot about how I should shape my body and how I can look for passes without showing the opposition where I am going to play the ball.

“And that is exactly what I hope will help me to help Harry even more in the future.”

Kulusevski played under Pirlo last term, scoring seven goals in 47 appearances across all competitions in 2020-21. However, he was not in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans this term, so he joined Tottenham along with Rodrigo Bentancur, who also moved to Spurs from Juventus.

“[Kane] is unbelievable. Yes, up there. What impressed me was his technique, the way he stopped the ball and the way he changed the whole pitch with his passes from both feet,” Kulusevski continued.

“It is amazing really. And I know that when he has the ball I have to run because he will find me.”

Andrea Pirlo also played under Antonio Conte during his time at Juventus. The 2006 Italy World Cup winner has often claimed that Conte, a former Inter, Juventus and Italy coach, is one of his role models as a coach.

  1. Former players will always generate clicks. Don’t think they’ll be moving on for a while as clicks generate revenue
