AZ Alkmaar’s director of football confirms Atalanta are in talks to sign Teun Koopmeiners, but the deal is ‘not done yet.’
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, La Dea have offered €15m to sign the Dutch midfielder who is part of the Netherlands squad at Euro 2020.
“I won’t comment on the fee,” AZ sporting director Max Huiberts told Voetbal International, who added the “deal is not done yet.”
However, the Dutch director suggested the two parties could soon reach an agreement as he mentioned the possible replacements for Koopmeiners.
“We still have Fredrik Midtsjø and we have extended the contracts of Jordy Clasie and Tijjani Reijnders,” he said.
“In addition, we have talented midfielders from our academy that will be promoted to the senior team, we have enough good midfielders.”
