Lazio striker Miroslav Klose plays down talk of winning the Europa League – “we’ll take it one game at a time.”

The Biancocelesti face Rosenborg in the competition tomorrow, with Stefano Pioli’s side considered as potential dark horses to lift the trophy.

“I never look too far forward,” Klose told reporters, sitting alongside Pioli in the pre-match Press conference.

“We’re in a strong group, if we make it out of the group we’ll be happy, we’ll take it one game at a time.

“We’re in a strong group, if we make it out of the group we’ll be happy, we’ll take it one game at a time.

“Rosenborg? I saw the game they played away from home [at Saint-Etienne], they’re a compact team with fast wingers who can hurt you.

“We’ll have a lot of possession though, we’re playing at home and we want to win.”

Klose was then asked about his physical condition, having been absent with injury, and whether he’s tempted to return to international football for Germany at Euro 2016.

“I’m fine, I’m getting better. During this international break I trained with the team. I need one or two more games, but the important thing is there’s no more pain.

“As for the second question, you know that when I make a decision I never go back. I’m proud when I think back to my last game for my country [the World Cup final] and what we raised to the sky.

“It was the most beautiful moment of my life. We have so many talents, the German national team has so many strong players and it will be the same after me.

“If [Mario] Gomez is fit, he’s very good. [Mario] Gotze is very young, but he’s on the right track. I’ve never seen a professional like him, so far he’s done everything like a great.

“We have to give young people time, there are great players in the Under-20s and Under-21s.”

But would he change his mind if Joachim Low called him?

“Do you know how many times they’ve called me?” Klose joked.

“I told the Coach I had made up my mind.

“Retirement? As I’ve always done, I’ll see how I feel after Christmas.”
