Simon Kjaer is eager to make up for his dismissal in the capital derby which helped Lazio beat Roma back in Week 7.

The Danish international was red carded after he gave away a penalty when he was adjudged to have brought down Cristian Brocchi.

“I touched him, but not enough to see him fall,” the summer signing told Il Romanista. “He went to the ground in a second instance.

“If I could change anything so far this season then it would, without a doubt, be that,” he admitted with regret.

“Unfortunately, though, I can’t do anything about it now. It’s part of the past, but I’m now ready to play again.”

Kjaer has returned from injury just as the capital club have lost fellow central defender Nicolas Burdisso for the season with knee ligament damage.

“I want to play against Lecce,” added the former Palermo man. “I want to cancel out that image from the derby.

“I’ve been sidelined for three weeks and I miss playing games.”
