Franck Kessie is reportedly not 100 per cent fit and could be on the bench this evening when Milan host Empoli.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 GMT.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Ivory Coast international Kessie was due to start in the trequartista role behind striker Olivier Giroud.

However, Kessie has a slight muscular issue he felt during training yesterday and could therefore be rested to begin with.

Instead, Brahim Diaz would take his spot, retaining Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer in midfield.

Alessandro Florenzi should take over at left-back from suspended Theo Hernandez.

  1. Good. Diaz is far better as a 10. Not sure why Pioli is determined to force Kessie into the team at this point.

  2. Hes fine on the bench till the end of the season. I would play him only in emergencies. Play those, who have a future at Milan, like Sandro and Isma.

  3. Because obviously Diaz is not the answer. It’s quite telling when players out of position are more effective than him.

  4. I only saw 1 effective 10 against Empoli. It certainly wasn’t Kessie. Diaz will get back to form end of this season, start of next. He’ll be our 1st choice 10 and Kessie (who to be fair to him is obviously a CM and not a 10) just a memory.
