Watford could sign Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao with help from Udinese, namely Thomas Heurtaux.

It had already been reported over the last couple of days that the Premier League outfit was interested in forward Keita.

According to Il Tempo newspaper, Watford have a secret weapon in the form of their sister club in Serie A, Udinese.

Both sides are owned by the Pozzo family and therefore regularly move players around between them.

It’s reported that Watford will get a discount on 20-year-old Keita’s €25m price-tag if Udinese give Lazio defender Heurtaux as part of the deal.

The Aquile are in dire need of new centre-backs following injuries to Stefan de Vrij and Santiago Gentiletti.

Watford have been stung by Serie A already this transfer window, as a deal was done with Juan Manuel Iturbe before Roma accepted more money from Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Keita announced on Facebook that he has signed on with new agent Roberto Calenda. "This marks a new beginning."
