It will be rolled out for the first time during the Toffees’ Premier League match against Manchester City on Saturday.

“The banner is beautiful because racism is horrendous and we have to fight against the racists,” said the former Juventus striker.

Whereas Serie A is still struggling to come to terms with its racism problem, the Premier League is showing the way forward.

West Ham United announced yesterday that they had given a lifetime ban to one of their fans after they were found to have racially abused one of the side’s players.
