Marco Giampaolo admits Milan “aren’t happy” ahead of facing Torino but insists his team have already flushed out their derby disappointment.

Milan were outplayed in a 2-0 defeat to Inter last weekend, casting a downer over their preparations for Thursday’s Serie A trip to Torino.

“I’m aware of what we are today,” Giampaolo said at a Press conference.

“I’m aware that we have things to improve on. We’re not happy right now, no-one is. We’re working to be stronger and more convincing. I know the team’s problems well, we’re working to find solutions.

“After the derby, there’s disappointment. We have a duty to start over and fix things. That’s the most important thing. The team are working well and have set aside the disappointment of the defeat.

“We must react head-on and start over with determination.”

Krzysztof Piatek was the find of the season in 2018-19 but has scored just one goal this time out…

“There’s no issue with him. We must all improve in the attacking phase. We have to work to reach fourth place.

“We have to work to be strong, then we’ll see where we get. It’s a question that can’t be answered now.

“Torino are a physical and tricky team to face with good individuals, so Milan must go to Turin to play their game.”

The Coach accepts the Rossoneri are “something else” compared to Sampdoria, so is he feeling the pressure?

“The directors are always around and when we talk, we always exchange ideas and opinions, but there’s been nothing particularly noteworthy.

“Milan are something else compared to Sampdoria. This Milan have different characteristics. I must work to help my players perform better.

“I never think about things like my future.”
