On-loan Roma striker Nikola Kalinic could return to Fiorentina in January, reports the Corriere dello Sport.

The Croat joined the Giallorossi on loan from Atletico Madrid with an option to buy over the summer, but he has struggled this season.

Kalinic has yet to find the back of the net for Roma, playing just three times after breaking his fibula earlier in the season against former club Milan.

The Roman daily speculates coach Paulo Fonseca no longer sees the 31-year-old in his plans and that the player could sign for Fiorentina or Bologna in January.
