Juventus will assess the extent of Leonardo Bonucci's injury today with Andrea Pirlo hoping the Italy defender will be eligible to face Inter on Tuesday.

Bonucci asked to be substituted in the final minutes of Juventus-Roma on Saturday, but ensured his physical conditions are not serious.

“I felt this twinge before, it’s nothing serious, but seeing as we still had substitutions left, I thought it best to go off as a precaution,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Andrea Pirlo said in a post-match press conference the defender’s injury will be assessed today. But does Bonucci risk to sit out of the upcoming Coppa Italia clash against Inter?

“We’ll see, he had a minor problem and we’ll assess his physical conditions on Sunday,” the Juventus coach said.

Juventus sit third in the Serie A table and are due to face Inter in the second-leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Tuesday.

The Bianconeri had beaten Antonio Conte’s side 2-1 at the Giuseppe Meazza earlier this week.
