Juventus transfer target Nicolò Zaniolo did not participate in Roma‘s friendly on Saturday against Trastevere due to injury.

The midfielder’s representatives have reportedly been in talks with the Bianconeri over a summer switch.

And Sky, among others, report the reason for his absence in the Trastevere friendly was due to a small pain in his lower back.

The clash with the Serie D side from the capital city took place on Saturday, with kick off at 5.30 p.m. CEST.

Zaniolo, who joined Roma from Inter in 2018, scored the only goal in the Europa Conference League Final-win over Feyenoord in what could be his final appearance for the Giallorossi.

Upon his return to Roma’s Trigoria training ground, he drove straight past fans before stopping to sign autographs as he was leaving, but refused to respond to calls for him to stay.

Zaniolo has made 111 appearances for Roma and scored 22 goals.
