Massimiliano Allegri was widely criticised by the Italian newspapers after Juventus suffered another disappointing result in their draw with Genoa.

A training retreat couldn’t shake off the Bianconeri’s poor form as they looked miserable in their Sunday afternoon clash with the Rossoblu, being held to a goalless draw at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Juventus have now secured just seven points in their last eight Serie A matches, form that has only increased the pressure on the Italian tactician, who is now looking increasingly likely to part ways with the Old Lady at the end of this season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport were particularly unimpressed with Juventus’ performance in their first half with Genoa, explaining: “In the first half, Juve suffered against Genoa, not Real Madrid, and threw away 45 minutes. In the second half they woke up, but with crosses and dead balls as their only weapons.”

Corriere dello Sport were unequally unsatisfied with the work of Allegri’s squad, suggesting that the club are in crisis as a result of their form, saying: “Juventus in quicksand. Empty first half, moves never combined. Dangers in the second, they released all possible forwards. Once again deluded and disappointed by Chiesa and Vlahovic.”

Tuttosport even suggested that Allegri and Juventus’ issues could put their Champions League qualification at risk, writing: “The numbers say seven points in eight games. Not even the retreat can bring peace to the environment. At this rate the Champions League is at risk. But one wonders how much he still has the team in hand.”
