Juventus President Gianluca Ferrero has been in contact with Alessandro Del Piero over a return to Turin to help the club navigate its way through tricky waters in this difficult chapter of their club history.

The Juve chief called Del Piero back in December while investigations into the club were underway, as he believed, and reportedly still believes, that the former Bianconeri captain could be the man to help them through their troubles.

According to Corriere della Sera, the idea was to appoint Del Piero to the role of vice President, in a similar position to the one previously held by Pavel Nedved prior to his resignation and subsequent suspension.

Juve believe that Del Piero would be the perfect link between the dressing room and the board of directors. His admiration by the supporters is naturally a big bonus, as well.

Del Piero was in attendance for Juventus’ 1-0 win over Hellas Verona on Saturday evening, in what was only his second visit to the Allianz Stadium since he left the club as a player in 2012.

The 48-year-old is in Turin with his Los Angeles based Juventus academy team, which was also the same reason for his only other visit to the club back in April, 2022.

According to Corriere, there had been pleas from numerous supporters before, during and after the game against Verona for Del Piero to return to the club.

Whether Del Piero has had any other meetings scheduled during his 10,000 kilometre trip has not been confirmed, although Corriere suggests that it is an awful long way to travel just to accompany the youth team.
