The Italy international is a valuable asset tactically because he can play on the right or left of a four-man defence or a five-man midfield.

He already has 30 senior caps for Italy despite numerous injury problems in recent years.

Juve are already working on the future of their defence, having signed Mattia Caldara from Atalanta today.

Caldara will remain in Bergamo on loan until June 2018, but has been bought for €15m plus up to €10m in various bonuses and add-ons.
