Juventus will likely put Alex Sandro on the market in the summer and the Old Lady is considering possible replacements, from Renan Lodi to Nahuel Molina and Emerson Palmieri.

Alex Sandro’s contract expires in June 2023, but the Serie A giants are willing to part ways with the Brazil international in the summer. His performances have often been disappointing this season and the Allianz Stadium crowd booed the 31-year-old after he was subbed off in the derby d’Itaia on Sunday night.

Tuttosport confirms that Juventus would not mind Alex Sandro’s sale and have already identified a few potential replacements for the former Porto man. According to the Turin-based paper, Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi is one of their targets.

The Brazilian will turn 24 tomorrow and has played 35 games across all competitions this term. His €4.5m-a-year salary is affordable for Juventus, but the Serie A giants fear Atletico won’t be willing to sell.

Therefore, they continue to monitor Chelsea loanee and Italy international Emerson Palmieri as well as Owen Wijndal. The 22-year-old is under contract with AZ Alkmaar and is one of the clients of Mino Raiola.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also mentions Wijndal as one of Juventus’ potential targets adding the names of Marcos Alonso and Udinese‘s Molina. The Friulani’s asking price is €30m.

3 thought on “Juventus looking for Alex Sandro’s replacements”
  1. Swapping Sandro for Emerson is not going to make much difference. This position needs someone with dynamism, pace and the ability to cross a ball.

  2. Lodi would be a good signing as he already plays for a club and coach who loves defensive football but that is not a step up (club nor coach) going to Italy.
