Juventus were overjoyed to see Wojciech Szczesny return to training today after his recent neck muscle issue.

The 32-year-old Polish shot stopper was taken off during the half time break of the Bianconeri’s friendly with Standard Liege last week, complaining of a discomfort in one of his neck muscles. He was replaced by Mattia Perin, who was prepared to fill in for Juventus’ first game of 2023 against Cremonese.

As announced by Juventus, Szczesny completed the entire training sessions with his teammates in Continassa today, giving positive signs just two days before their match against Cremonese. He now looks set to start against the Lombardy outfit, giving Massimiliano Allegri a key boost at the back.

Although he only played in three group games, Szczesny impressed at the World Cup in Qatar, saving a Lionel Messi penalty. In Turin, the 32-year-old Pole has conceded seven goals and kept three clean sheets in nine Serie A appearances.
