Juventus have Denis Zakaria in hand, but the negotiations with Cagliari for Nahitan Nandez are proving to be more complex, even with Kaio Jorge going the other way.

According to multiple sources in Italy, a deal is practically done with Borussia Monchengladbach for Zakaria, with the only issue dividing up the €7m into transfer fee and performance-related bonuses.

With Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur heading to Tottenham Hotspur for a combined €65m, Juve are also eager to bring in Nandez.

Transfer news: rumours and done deals as Kulusevski flies to London and Juve focus on Zakaria

This is proving more difficult, as Cagliari already came close to letting the Uruguay international join Inter last year only for it to collapse at the last minute.

There is the very real risk of that happening again, because Sportitalia note Cagliari are open to a loan with option to buy only if certain conditions are met.

The conditions are the problem, as Nandez does not want to go to Juventus for just five months, especially without guarantees of regular playing time.

Kaio Jorge would go on loan to Cagliari, but that still isn’t going to fulfil the monetary requirements of a deal.

The other issue is that Cagliari owe Boca Juniors a cut of the sell-on fee after signing Nandez for €17m in 2019.
