Tension in the stands of the Allianz Stadium saw one Juventus fan suffer a painful injury after being hit by a chair thrown from the section occupied by the travelling Roma supporters.

The Bianconeri edged out an important 1-0 win over the Giallorossi in their Saturday evening clash in Turin, with Adrien Rabiot’s 47th minute striker proving the difference maker in a testing match. The result allowed Massimiliano Allegri’s side to reduce the gap to league leaders Inter to just two points.

It was another frustrating result for Jose Mourinho’s Roma, who sit five points behind fourth place Fiorentina after 18 matches, leaving them with work to do in the new year.

As widely shared on social media, a seat was torn from the guest sector of the Allianz Stadium and thrown at the nearby Juventus supporters. The chair hit an unlucky woman, who suffered a head injury that bled significantly, requiring medical attention.

In addition to this act, other signs of tension were also plainly visible, with beer cans and lighters thrown in the stadium as well as racist chanting directed at Dusan Vlahovic.
