Lazio Coach Stefano Pioli must get a result against Juventus on Friday to save his job, reports suggest.

The Biancocelesti have taken just one point from their last five Serie A games, and have lost five of seven games away from home.

Following a Coppa Italia final and a third place finish last season, it has been a dramatic turnaround in fortunes for the Aquile.

While publicly the club continues to insist that Pioli’s position is not up for discussion, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that talks have been taking place behind the scenes.

The newspaper states that the visit of the Bianconeri on Friday is crucial, and a defeat could see the tactician given his marching orders.

The Old Lady are on a four-match winning run, and Lazio have not beaten the Turin giants in Serie A since December 2003, as well as losing in the Coppa Italia final and Supercoppa Italiana to Max Allegri’s men in their two most recent meetings.

Should President Claudio Lotito decide to pull the trigger, Gazzetta believes there are three names in the frame.

Former Udinese Coach Francesco Guidolin is thought to be admired by Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare, with the belief that he is able to oversee a long-term project.

Two former players are also thought to be in the frame, in the shape of Cristian Brocchi and Simone Inzaghi.

The former is currently Coach of Milan’s Primavera side, and could come in alongside Marcello Lippi, who would act as a technical director.

Inzaghi, meanwhile, has achieved good results with various categories of Lazio’s youth team, and would represent a low-cost appointment, given he is already on the books.
