The FIGC Prosecutor has officially requested a nine-point deduction for Juventus, so what happens now?

The second sporting trial for alleged financial irregularities made by Juventus and other Serie A clubs is taking place in Rome today. This morning, FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné requested a nine-point deduction for the Bianconeri.

Today, a court must decide whether to reopen a sporting trial concerning alleged inflated transfer values registered by Juventus and other Italian clubs over the last few years.

Juventus and other Italian clubs were cleared of similar allegations in April, so the Bianconeri’s lawyers expect the same will happen this time, and the case won’t be reopened.

FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné has asked the court to review April’s ruling following a criminal financial investigation into Juventus by the Turin Prosecutor during which new evidence emerged, including a notebook belonging to club director Federico Cherubini, where he blamed his predecessor Fabio Paratici for the financial management of transfers.

The Prosecutor has also requested suspensions for Cherubini, Paratici, Andrea Agnelli and the club’s previous board members, including Pavel Nedved during this morning’s hearing.

The other clubs involved in today’s proceeding are  SampdoriaEmpoliGenoa, Parma, Pisa, Pescara, Pro Vercelli and Novara, but the Prosecutor has only requested fines for them.

If the case against Juventus is reopened, the sentence could even be delivered this evening.

Troubles won’t be over for Juventus even if Bianconeri are cleared of accusation for a second time.

The Sporting Justice, in fact, is also investigating the Bianconeri for alleged hidden payments to their players and staff members after the peak of the COVID pandemic, with evidence emerged during investigations by the Turin Prosecutor.

For this reason, another sporting trial involving the Serie A giants could be opened in the coming months as well as a criminal trial for false investigation and false communication to the market.

  1. If this happens, congratulations, Maradona. After WC, also Napoli takes scudetto! And… again we’ll be vice-champions and we play in Supercoppa. 😛

  2. Honestly, disgusting club.
Always cooking the books while genuine clubs try their best.
You will never win another CL so get over it no matter the amount of cheating!
