According to reports, Juventus are attempting to poach Napoli director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli as a long-term replacement for Fabio Paratici, who joined Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bianconeri promoted Federico Cherubini to the role of director of sport when Paratici’s contract was allowed to expire in July, but the role always seemed to be a temporary one.

According to Calciomercato.com, the primary target for Juve is already well-known in Serie A, as they are looking towards Napoli director of sport Giuntoli.

It is reported the Old Lady has long been in contact with Giuntoli and considers him an ideal heir to Paratici for the role in Turin.

His contract with Napoli is due to expire in June 2024, but rumours have long suggested his position working under President Aurelio De Laurentiis is not particularly solid.

Giuntoli has been with the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona club since 2015, having previously worked at Carpi.

He would not be the first director of sport to go from Napoli to Juventus, as Luciano Moggi was with the Partenopei from 1987 to 1991, then took over at Juve from 1994 to the Calciopoli scandal in 2006.

  1. @forza max: are you nuts ? didn’t he sell cavani to buy Higuain, Mertens and Kouibaily ? then he sold Higuain for 90 mill ? and if De Laurentis wasn’t an idiot he would have sold Allan for 60 million to Man City……he made some great moves for Napoli.

Regardless, Cherubini needs someone to work with him – all the other teams have 2 people working together and there’s a reason for that – it’s too much work for 1 person
