According to Tuttosport, director Fabio Paratici is heading to Barcelona for negotiations, hoping they are still interested in the defender.

Barca had tried for Rugani in the summer of 2018, along with Chelsea, but at that time he was considered the heir to Andrea Barzagli.

Since his move to Juve in 2015, the Italy international has not developed as swiftly as anticipated and even Maurizio Sarri, who worked with Rugani at Empoli and tried to purchase him at both Napoli and Chelsea, does not seem to consider him a top choice.

He had been close to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but could not work out personal terms by the Premier League transfer deadline.
