It has been a disappointing campaign for the Nerazzurri with early exits from the Champions League and Coppa Italia, not to mention three different Coaches and a struggle to even qualify for Europe.

“In a derby there are no favourites, as the derby is a derby, like a whole other season by itself,” the goalkeeper told Inter Channel.

“Both Inter and Milan could be bottom of the table and we’d still fight tooth and nail not to lose the derby.

“We don’t want to lose this for us and for the tifosi, as we owe it to our fans. With a result we could make this rather ugly season into a moment the fans can at least enjoy.”

It is also a special game for Julio Cesar, who marks his 300th appearance in an Inter jersey.

“They were 300 individual stories, more beautiful ones than bad.”
