Despite interest from Werder Bremen and Flamengo, defender Juan intends to respect his Roma contract.

“There is absolutely no problem between Juan and Roma,” said agent Michele Gerbino. “He has two years left on his deal and he wants to stay.

“He's happy at Roma and in Rome. He has a good relationship with his teammates and we are ready to remain.

“As far as we are concerned, Roma are Juan's future. The only reason why there are these rumours circulating about him is because he's a player that many clubs would want.”

Gerbino, however, did concede that he had yet to discuss the club's plans with their new American owners.

“We'll see what they have to say once they are operational,” the representative continued. “I think they will meet up with the agents of all their players.

“It'll be a meeting where we will be told what they think of Juan.”

Roma are likely to confirm the Brazilian international, especially as the club are already set to lose a central defender in the shape of Philippe Mexes.

The latter is out of contract in the summer and will, in all probability, join Serie A rivals Milan on a free transfer.

The South American joined Roma in 2007 from Bayer Leverkusen. He started his professional career in Brazil with Flamengo at the age of 17. He's now 32.
