Brazilian defender Juan could join Flamengo in the summer if he can agree a deal with Roma to rescind his contract.

Reports in the capital on Tuesday are suggesting that the 33-year-old may head back to his homeland at the end of the season.

The former international stopper is contracted to the Giallorossi until June 2013 and a renewal at the Olimpico seems unlikely.

Flamengo have openly admitted in the past that they would like to re-sign the man who spent six years in their first team squad before a 2002 move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Juan transferred to Italy in 2007 when Roma completed a €6.4m swoop for his signature.

The veteran has struggled with fitness and form this season which have limited him to just 16 Serie A games so far.
