"The worst is over. There have been really tough periods. Can I say it? I am now optimistic.

"I follow everything about Fiorentina even if I am far from the club [back in Belgrade]. I speak with my teammates, above all with Ljajic, Gulan, Avramov and Seferovic.

"I have spoken with Sinisa Mihajlovic, who I thank again because he has always been there for me. And I have seen all of Fiorentina's games.

"There have been many difficulties, many injuries and it's impossible to judge how good this team really is.

"I only ask that the fans stay close to Fiorentina. I have spoken with my teammates and I know that they need the people's affection."

Asked to reveal when he'll be back in Florence, Jovetic said: "The first days of February. From then onwards I will stay with the group. I will start to get back into things again.

"I am getting there," he concluded.
