Stevan Jovetic praises Inter’s “hunger” and “of course” they can win the Scudetto this season.

The Nerazzurri are currently top of Serie A by two points, and face a potentially-crucial trip to Napoli on Monday night.

“I was sure we’d have a good start, but not like this,” Jovetic told Corriere dello Sport.

“We have a lot of hunger. Compared to other teams who have been playing together for years we have a lot of new faces, but we’re all giving our best for the team and trying to give the Coach [Roberto Mancini] a headache with his choices.

“The Scudetto? I don’t see one single favourite, but there are four or five teams who can fight until the end.

“I’m talking about Juventus, Inter, Roma, Napoli and Fiorentina.

“Do I believe Inter can win the Scudetto? Of course I do.

“Third-place? At the beginning of the season that was the goal, but now we understand we can do more.

“To do that we have to continue playing well and getting good results in Serie A, being aware that there are no easy games.”

The Beneamata have been criticised for their style of play this season, racking up a series of 1-0 wins, but Jovetic shrugs off the criticism.

“I’m the first to enjoy good football, and I don’t think Inter play badly. Against Juve, Roma and Frosinone, to give a few examples, we did well.

“In this sport though, the most important thing is to win. As long as we’re doing well, the critics can say what they want.”
