Stevan Jovetic has told anxious fans that he has no intention of leaving his beloved Fiorentina.

The Montenegro international was linked with an exit last week after Napoli named him as a possible replacement for Ezequiel Lavezzi if he was sold this summer.

However, the 2008 signing from Partizan Belgrade has committed his immediate future to the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit.

"I have received a lot of messages from fans who have asked me to stay at Fiorentina," the attacking midfielder noted.

"I'm very happy here and it is an honour for me to be named as the new vice-captain of the team by the Coach.

"My desire is to continue wearing the Viola jersey and to win as much as possible with this club."

Jovetic is now back to full fitness for the campaign ahead after he missed all of 2010-11 because of a knee injury he picked up last summer.
