Jorginho insists Napoli “are not putting pressure on ourselves” as “Juventus remain favourites” for the Scudetto.

The Partenopei are top of Serie A, and will be crowned winter champions if they win at Crotone tonight.

“Juve remain favourites,” Jorginho insisted, speaking to La Repubblica.

“They’ve won six titles in a row and they have a super group. We don’t have to think about them, but about Crotone, a combative opponent with a passionate stadium.

“They’ve won six titles in a row and they have a super group. We don’t have to think about them, but about Crotone, a combative opponent with a passionate stadium.

“Napoli will have to do things well, with organisation and personality.

“The 96 points in 2017 are the result of the fantastic work we’re doing, and shows the path we need to continue on, without ever stopping growing.

“We’ll play for first place with a carefree attitude, we’re not putting pressure on ourselves.

“We’ve put the bitterness about the Champions League behind us, while memorising the mistakes we made which cost us with the elimination.

“We have to delete negative events, turning the page right away.”

Jorginho is seen as a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s machine, and he also discussed his own season.

“So far it’s been the best season of my career, I keep improving and becoming more confident.

“I’m happy to have everyone’s trust, I’m the Napoli player who touches the ball most during the match and we get on really well off the pitch too.

“In the last two seasons our group has become rock solid, no-one is excluded.”
