“How does it feel to be fighting for the Scudetto?” Jorginho considered in an interview with Il Mattino.

“There’s so much motivation and a desire to do even better because we’re having an incredible season and we’re still in second place, so we’re very focused and we want to do well.

“I think the formation, playing in a midfield three has been beneficial, the Coach [Maurizio Sarri] has brought us the mentality of always playing the ball on the ground, always pressing forward and trying to impose our game.

“I think that’s what’s suited to my characteristics, I’m really enjoying it.

“Juventus? They’re used to winning, even when they’re maybe not playing well they manage to bring home a result, whereas I think it takes more effort for us, we need seven or eight scoring chances to win.

“We have to play good football, they have a solid defence and manage to win. They’re in that habit and have that important strength, that’s the difference.”

Though he was born in Brazil, Jorginho is eligible for Italy and has played for the Azzurri at youth level, is he aiming to be called-up for Euro 2016?

“I’ve always said, the national team is a result of what you do for your club. I think I’m doing well this year, as are the whole team, and I’ll continue on this path, doing my job seriously as a professional.

“If the call comes it wouldn’t just be an honour, but a dream. I’ll continue to work with Napoli and my teammates.”
