The midfielder has been named as the best Czech young player for 2017, and he discussed his future after accepting the award.

“I’m very happy to have won this award,” Jankto said.

“I was nominated last year too, but in the end my friend Patrik Schick won. As well the best young player prize I’d like to win the Czech Player of the Year, it’s a dream for me.

“My future? I’m a player who has been owned by Udinese for four years, so I’m very comfortable there.

“I’d also like to have another experience though, I like to get to know different countries and cultures. I’m not afraid to change.”

Vladimir Darida of Hertha Berlin won the Czech Player of the Year award, which was won by Petr Cech in eight of the previous nine seasons.

Other notable winners of the award include former Juventus and Lazio star Pavel Nedved -who won it four times – Tomas Rosicky and Karel Poborsky.
