The Frenchman moved to Old Trafford for a world-record €105m this summer, with the potential for another €5m in bonuses.

“Juventus had a tremendous transfer campaign, both incoming and outgoing,” Iuliano told TuttoJuve.

“I’m sorry they’ve lost Pogba, but it was the right decision to let him go because in those conditions it was a great deal. The club did very little wrong, the transfer campaign was perfect.

“Which surprised me most? Without a doubt [Gonzalo] Higuain, it’s really nice to see him at Juve, I’ve always rated him.

“He was always decisive in his seasons at Napoli. The 36 goals he got at Napoli last season is the best CV. He’s a complete player, and his teammates will definitely like playing with him.

“The other players also speak for themselves.”

Iuliano spent four years with the Bianconeri, winning four Scudetti and making close to 200 Serie A appearances.
