Davor Suker has insisted that Sunday's match between Italy and Croatia will have no bearing in the race to qualify for Euro 2016.

The two countries face each at San Siro this weekend, occupying the top two spots in Group H.

For the Croats’ former Real Madrid striker, who now serves as the President of the Croatian Football Federation, Sunday will be a close encounter.

“The game against Italy won't be decisive. Three points will be up for grabs, and that's it,” Suker told Sky Sport 24.

“We expect a tough game, with Italy playing on the attack and a packed San Siro, so may the best [team] win!

“Balotelli might play and Italy are the favourites, but we're going to Milan with confidence, hoping to do well against the Azzurri, just like in 1994, when I scored two goals against them in Palermo.”
