Italy could make it to the Nations League Final Four for the second time in just three editions of the competition.

They visit Hungary in Budapest this evening at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

If the Azzurri win that match, they will leapfrog the leaders and top the group ahead of Hungary, Germany and relegated England.

Should they reach the Final Four in 2023, that will be the Nazionale’s second participation in just three editions of the tournament.

Croatia and the Netherlands have already qualified for the 2023 edition, so the Dutch make it to the Final Four for the second time after the inaugural season in 2019.

This evening, one of Portugal or Spain will also secure their participation for the second time.

Italy hosted the Final Four in 2021, fresh from winning EURO 2020, and finished third after losing 2-1 to Spain and beating Belgium 2-1.

The 2023 Final Four will be played in the Netherlands.

  1. wow.
ya know they also failed to qualify for 2 straight worlds cups.
    smh. nations league is worthless.

  2. King Maradona,
You might be right but the luck of italy ws very cruel. Against Switzerland they missed penalties in both games and against Macedonia they can’t score after having 30 shots or so. In nation league they play first 4 games with new players almost but they still wins s group.
