Fiorentina are among the clubs dealing with South American players returning from international duty, but the Tuscans’ coach Vincenzo Italian claims he is preparing ‘every detail’ for their upcoming match with Atalanta.

La Viola meet La Dea on Saturday at 19.45 UK time. They have three points from their opening two Serie A games.

“Atalanta and Gasperini have done an incredible job in the past seasons. On their day they are spectacular,” Italiano said at a press conference.

“This match is difficult for us, you all know what Atalanta can do at home. We must be ready, preparing every detail. We come from a win and want to be consistent. We must be a team that never gives up,” he continued.

South American players are coming back to Europe after playing three games during the international break. Most of them will return to their clubs just in time for the weekend action.

“The players on international duty returned during the week, but the South Americans will come only tomorrow. Everyone has these problems. It’s tough to prepare for such a difficult game in this situation,” the coach added.

“Aleksandr Kokorin is growing, improving and working well. Others can also play as striker, with different qualities. Different to those of Dusan Vlahovic or Kokorin. Nico Gonzalez, for example, is one of those.

“Riccardo Sottil is a very talented player. He wants to do well, improve and is very happy to be at Fiorentina.

“Alvaro Odriozola has incredible physical quality, he needs to adapt to my style, meet the teammates. He is happy to be here. Lucas Torreira also has to adapt to all the new things for him. But we’re talking about a great player.”
