Italian and Ukrainian singers will perform John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ before the Serie A match between Juventus and Inter.

It kicks off on Sunday at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

The Lega Serie A is again putting together a series of initiatives, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine moves into its second month.

All club captains will wear the message ‘PEACE’ on their armbands this weekend, with the same word appearing on graphics and a banner before kick-off.

When it comes to the big game of the weekend, the Derby d’Italia, there is an extra special moment planned.

Italian-Brazilian singer Gaia will perform a duet with Ukrainian Kateryna Pavlenko, the frontwoman for band Go_A, on the pitch before the match.

Her band represented Ukraine at Eurovision in 2021.

They will sing a cover of John Lennon’s anti-war anthem ‘Imagine.’

Italian COVID-19 rules are being loosened this month, so stadiums are open at 100 per cent capacity for the first time since March 2020.

Another change is that children are back walking out before kick-off with the players as mascots.
