It was yesterday confirmed that he will take over Lega Pro side Venezia for next season, and the new Coach discussed the Diavolo in his presentation Press conference today.

“I want to thank Milan,” Inzaghi told assembled media.

“I had my best years in that shirt. It [the sacking] didn’t damage my relationship with the club, and I wish President [Silvio] Berlusconi a speedy recovery.

“I’ll always be a Rossonero.”

Inzaghi also discussed his ambitions for the future, having dropped from Serie A to the top-tier.

“If our players are as ambitious as the President [Joe Tacopina], we’ll soon be at the top. Tacopina is a Champions League President, not a Lega Pro one.

“To be away from the pitch hurt me very badly, but today I’m as excited as my first day at school, it doesn’t matter that we’re in Lega Pro.”
