Simone Inzaghi warns Genoa represent a ‘dangerous’ test for his Serie A leaders Inter and reveals the advice given to Marko Arnautovic.
It kicks off at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, also commonly known as Marassi, at 19.45 GMT.
“This is a dangerous game, we are up against a team that is in good shape both physically and mentally, coming off a run of positive results. We need a great Inter performance,” Inzaghi told DAZN.
Genoa have already held Juventus to a 1-1 draw earlier this month, while they beat Roma, Lazio and Sassuolo, holding Napoli to a 2-2 draw.
Meanwhile, a victory here would ensure Inter are the Winter Champions, beyond the reach of Juve with a round to spare before the midway stage of the season.
Lautaro Martinez, Federico Dimarco and Juan Cuadrado are still out injured, so Arnautovic again partners Marcus Thuram and the veteran is looking for his first Serie A goal of the campaign. Has former striker Inzaghi given Arnautovic any advice?
“Strikers live for goals, but they must also do well to put themselves at the service of the team. I do not give Arnautovic any specific advice, but like all forwards he has to help the team, which he has been doing.”
