Lazio Coach Simone Inzaghi claimed his side don’t want to "give an inch" in their chase for the top four and that they now have five finals left to play after beating 10-man Sampdoria.

Speaking in the post-match Press conference after a 2-1 win at Marassi this evening, the tactician stated that reaching the Coppa Italia Final took a lot out of his side on Wednesday night.

“We came from a midweek game where we spent so much energy and it showed today. From nearly going three goals up we went to 2-1 against Sampdoria.

“We also risked conceding an equaliser, it would have been a joke if we did. We were very eager to do well in this game and we are very happy with the result.

“We had to close out the second half, but we couldn’t do it. A third goal for us would have ended the game, but it didn’t happen. We have five finals left to play now.”

The Biancocelesti are now just three points behind city rivals Roma, who sit on 58 points in fourth place with four games left to play.

“We still believe in Champions League qualification, there are still 12 points up for grabs and anything can happen. We know where we are in the table and we don’t want to give an inch.

“We will look ahead now at the next game and focus on Atalanta next week."

The capital club face-off against Atalanta in a huge top four clash in Serie A and will meet again in the Coppa Italia Final on May 15.

Felipe Caicedo scored both goals in today’s win and has now netted four in his last three league games.

“He deserves the praise, I’m very happy for him. Many people will have changed their minds about him now. Felipe was remembered for his miss against Crotone last season, but I was clear that I wanted him in my squad and I’m glad he is now giving back to the team.”
