It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT).

“This is certainly a decisive game for our European ambitions and we have respect for Atalanta, but know that we too are a strong team,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We’ll play with conviction, determination and courage. That way, we can beat all our rivals from here to the end of the season.”

These two sides will face off again at the Olimpico on May 15 for the Coppa Italia Final, having eliminated clubs with much larger budgets.

“Over the last three years, Atalanta and Lazio have been very close together in the table. We’re both offering some excellent football, competing with clubs who on paper ought to be ahead of us, but we don’t hold back.

“We’ll be keeping a close eye on Papu Gomez, Josip Ilicic and Duvan Zapata. Against Atalanta we need to run hard, show courage and conviction.

“It’s the start of May and we are still in the running for fourth place and to win the Coppa Italia. We would’ve done better in the Europa League too if we hadn’t been decimated going into the two matches with Sevilla, so we’ve been more or less in this position for three years running now and can always improve.

“The fans know that Lazio are competitive and this team has heart.”

Last season, Inzaghi voted for Gian Piero Gasperini as Serie A Coach of the Season, whereas most went for Max Allegri or Maurizio Sarri.

“He is a very talented Coach and I genuinely respect him. He organised his teams and we’ve both had a fascinating journey at our respective clubs. We’ll see how it goes for us in these final weeks of the campaign.”

Senad Lulic is suspended, with Stefan Radu, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Valon Berisha and Jordan Lukaku injured.

“Thomas Strakosha had an issue in training yesterday, but I think he’s available,” continued Inzaghi.

“I have three strikers who are all fully living up to expectations and it’d be wonderful to always have such difficult choices to make. Ciro Immobile hasn’t scored as many as last season, but is working more for the team. Tucu Correa is improving game by game and is always decisive. Felipe Caicedo has a great scoring rate and is a complete striker.

“We’ll see who starts on the bench tomorrow, but against Milan and Sampdoria the introduction of substitutes shook things up, so everyone can make their mark.”
