The Nerazzurri are brimming with confidence after booking their place in the Champions League Round of 16 with a 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen and are climbing back up the Serie A table too.
“Victories bring confidence, happiness, we are in a good period of form and achieved an important result, but in football you have to forget quickly and move on to the next challenge, which this evening is very difficult,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.
This is only Stankovic’s fourth game in charge of Sampdoria, but he has been a tactical chameleon who will try to frustrate Inter.
“Sampdoria changed coach, Stankovic played with me at Lazio, he won many trophies at Red Star Belgrade as a coach and will do everything he can to make it difficult for us.
“We must be focused, determined and aggressive, because Samp just got their first win against Cremonese, so are highly-motivated.”
Romelu Lukaku returned to the field midweek after two months out with a muscular injury and promptly scored within four minutes.
The Belgium international is on the bench again this evening at San Siro.
“He is training without problems now, scored a goal on his comeback and we’ll try to increase the time he gets on the field, but the important thing is that he keeps training like this.”
