The Rossoneri are in third place after Udinese” data-scaytid=”10″>Udinese and Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”11″>Sampdoria both lost this evening.

“We mustn’t look at the table right now, as that wouldn’t be right. We have to focus on growing game by game,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Playing against Cagliari is never easy, as Zdenek Zeman’s teams are tough customers and we put in a great performance with character, suffering when we needed to.

“The positives from today are the point and the fact we are giving a sense of consistency to our performances and results.

“Perhaps we could’ve controlled the ball a little better, but we have time to improve. I think playing like a provincial side is a good thing. I believe we have to suffer against everyone and tonight’s results elsewhere prove that. This is a balanced League, much more than in previous years.”

Fernando Torres was back in the starting XI and again failed to make much of an impact, so is Jeremy Menez more suited to Milan’s trident?

“Last time the critics said it was the other way round. I hoped a centre-forward like Torres would allow us to get the other strikers into the box tonight, but Zeman’s teams are always tricky.

“We need to improve, but it also has to be said that in the summer nobody thought we’d be in third place at this stage of the season.”
