Tomorrow’s Derby della Madonnina could prove crucial in the title race between Inter and Milan this season, and the owners of both clubs are ready for battle.

The Rossoneri are owned by American investment fund Elliott Management and managing partner Gordon Singer is ready to make an appearance at the San Siro tomorrow to watch tomorrow’s duel, which is likely to be a key chapter in this season’s title race.

Milan sit second in the Serie A table, four points behind their intercity rivals, but they had an incredibly disappointing January transfer window, signing only youngster Marko Lazetic. This upset many of the Rossoneri faithful, who were expecting some reinforcements as they look to win their first league title in a decade.

It was a different story for Inter. Owned by Chinese conglomerate Suning, the Nerazzurri made two important signings last month, bringing in Robin Gosens and Felipe Caicedo. President Steven Zhang takes a more active role with the team and he’ll spend this evening with the squad at Appiano Gentile ahead of tomorrow’s match.

The derby ultimately may not prove to be decisive in the long run, but the presence of both owners at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium tomorrow is a sign of how important the match really is.
