Inter have reportedly resumed talks with Atalanta for Merih Demiral, but with Guglielmo Vicario joining Tottenham, the Nerazzurri have set their sights on two other goalkeepers and expect Romelu Lukaku and Davide Frattesi to snub Milan’s offers.
The Nerazzurri’s transfer plans have fallen apart with Tottenham’s official offer for Vicario and Milan jumping to the front of the queue for Frattesi, who they can sign following Sandro Tonali’s Newcastle transfer.
Gazzetta and Sky Sport Italia claim the Rossoneri are also interested in Lukaku, but the pink paper maintains Inter expect both he and Frattesi to snub offers from the Rossoneri.
Lukaku and Frattesi, in fact, have already agreed to personal terms with the Nerazzurri, but the Champions League Finalists first need to finalise some sales, starting with Marcelo Brozovic who is in advanced talks with Al-Nassr.
It remains to be seen if Inter will have the money to get Lukaku on a permanent transfer, given that, for now, they’ve only discussed a new loan deal with Chelsea.
According to Thursday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport (page 7), Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners are also on Inter’s radars if Frattesi joins Milan.
With Vicario joining Tottenham, Inter have set their sights on Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, 22, and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer, 34. One of them could move to the Stadio Meazza if André Onana leaves. Manchester United are said to be leading the race for the Cameroon international.
The pink paper adds that Inter directors met Atalanta over the last few days to discuss a potential dry loan deal for Merih Demiral. The Nerazzurri must replace the departing Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio and after reaching a principle of agreement for Aarhus defender Yann Aurel Bisseck, Demiral, a long-time target of Beppe Marotta, would complete Inter’s defensive department for 2023-24.
