Inter have reportedly activated their option to extend Danilo D’Ambrosio’s contract and hope to do the same with Andrea Ranocchia and Ashley Young.

The Nerazzurri introduced new coach Simone Inzaghi last week and are now planning for the future.

This includes keeping some of their current squad, but at renegotiated and reduced wages to keep the costs down.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter today activated the option to extend with D’Ambrosio until June 2022 and his agent was spotted at the club headquarters today.

Along with that deal, they are also in talks to extend with Young and Ranocchia.

Both defenders had been expected to walk away this summer as free agents, with Young in particular heading to Watford, but there has been a change of plan.

They are now ready to consider remaining, albeit at lower wages than their previous deals.
