Inter did consider making an offer to Juventus for Fabio Quagliarella before signing Antonio Cassano from Milan this week.

“Inter did seriously think about a swap with Giampaolo Pazzini,” the Neapolitan striker’s agent Beppe Bozzo told Sky Sport Italia. “However, Juventus didn’t want to sell Fabio to a direct rival.

“Interest from Milan? There was just a conversation.”

The Beneamata instead were able to send Pazzini to Milan in exchange for €7m cash and the services of Antonio Cassano.

Quagliarella, four Serie A goals last season, continues to be linked with a switch before the August 31 transfer deadline.
