Inter are emerging as new favourites for Napoli outcast Arkadiusz Milik, as Matias Vecino could be used in an exchange deal or Matteo Politano's cost cut.

The Poland international has been frozen out of the squad after refusing to sign a new contract, as a summer move to Roma fell through at the last minute.

His deal expires in June 2021 and Napoli still hope to sell him in January, making at least some money back and saving six months of his salary.

According to Tuttosport and Calciomercato.com, Inter have had an initial meeting with Milik’s agent and will now begin talks directly with Napoli.

The asking price is believed to be in the region of €18m, but that could be resolved by including midfielder Vecino as part of an exchange deal.

Another bonus Inter have is that Napoli are still paying for Matteo Politano, who they signed in January 2020 on loan for €2m with obligation to buy for a further €19m plus bonuses in 2021.

With that in mind, Inter could simply write off the remaining Politano sum by getting Milik in exchange.
