According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter want to add quality and depth to their midfield in the summer and have set sights on PSG’s Leandro Paredes, who can leave his club for €15m.

The former Roma midfielder sees his contract expire in June 2023 and Inter have been long-time admirers.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Argentina international is once again in the Nerazzurri’s sights as Simone Inzaghi wants to add quality and depth to his midfield for 2022-23.

The defending Serie A champions have been struggling to cope without Marcelo Brozovic this season, so they are looking for a possible back-up for the Croatia international. PSG are ready to sell Paredes for €15m and Inter would offer him a four-year deal worth €5m per season.

According to the report, the player would be happy to move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza even though his current salary in Paris is circa €6.5m-a-year. Paredes was close to joining Inter in 2020 in a swap deal with Marcelo Brozovic, but the transfer collapsed due to Paredes’ salary, which was higher than Brozovic’s.

The Croatia international has recently extended his contract with the Nerazzurri and will earn circa €6m per season for the next four years.

  1. This is unrealistic report, Inter will never pay 5M for a substitute midfielder.

Sensi seems the perfect backup, he just needs to regain form and confidence.

  2. Whenever I’ve watched Paredes, I’ve always been left wondering how he gets into the team. Same goes for that donkey Danilo. There are players at that club who would genuinely struggle to get into sides fighting relegation. Paredes is grossly overrated.
