There is good news for Inter, as both Nicolò Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu have only light muscular issues, with tests showing no lesions.

The pair of midfielders limped off during the 2-2 draw with Monza on Saturday, which ruled them out of tonight’s Coppa Italia clash with Parma.

There were even concerns they could be at risk for the Italian Super Cup showdown with Milan on Wednesday January 18.

However, Sky Sport Italia report today that the rests performed have shown only slight muscular concerns and there are above all no lesions.

Both Calhanoglu and Barella will therefore likely be rested tonight and perhaps also against Verona too.

That will allow them to be ready for the big match against Milan in Riyadh.

Sport Mediaset claim the tests show Calhanoglu has a inflammation of the iliopsas, while Barella just irritated a muscle in his thigh.

Both will be rested and undergo physiotherapy.
